As you may already know, Pearl Powder it is just what it says: micronised pearls. This 3000 years old beauty secret it's a must-have if you want to achieve glowing, even and youthful skin. But, everyone is different... so what is the best way to use Pearl Powder based on your skin type?
Firstly, you have to know what's your skin type. The four most common skin types are normal, oily, dry, and combination.
Normal skin is typically smooth and clear, with small, nearly invisible pores and a healthy balance of sebum production and moisture. The skin sheds its cells and layers normally is radiant and has very few imperfections.
Oily skin is characterized by a shiny surface, caused by the overproduction of sebum. Sebum is a natural mixture of fats, waxes, and oils that are secreted by our sebaceous glands. Those with oily complexions typically have thicker skin, larger pores and are prone to blackheads and blemishes.
Dry skin lacks moisture and is often dull and uneven. Those with dry skin typically have tight skin that lacks elasticity, therefore they develop fine lines and wrinkles more easily. Red patches, rough areas, cracking, and peeling are all common features of dry skin.
Combination skin is one of the most common skin types and is a blend of dry and oily skin. Those with combination complexions typically have drier skin on their cheeks and near their eyes, but an oily t-zone (the forehead, nose, and chin). Combination complexions usually feature enlarged pores and shiny skin and may be prone to breakouts and blackheads.
Now that you have an idea of which is your skin type, let's find out how can you incorporate Pearl Powder into your skincare regime.
Normal Skin
If you're lucky enough to have normal skin type, using Pearl Powder should be easy as drinking a glass of water (drink more water btw). You can add a pearl-sized amount of it to your cream, oil or serum. We think it's better to use it at night, so your skin can drink all the nutrients while you're sleeping, isn't it wonderful?
Oily Skin
If you have oily skin Pearl Powder can definitely help you to minimize pores, even out skin texture, speed healing and remove acne scarring. A lot of people that deal with oily skin are afraid of oils because why should I more oil onto my skin if it's already oily? Well, it might surprise you but it's the right opposite: do you remember how stripping your skin of oil actually makes your skin overproduce oil? Well, using a facial oil tells your skin that it’s got plenty of oil and, if you’re lucky, will help to quell sebum production. They also help give you a healthy glow, can unclog your pores and fight off breakouts. The trick is to stick to natural organic oils like our favourite Argan Oil. We suggest to
1. add a pearl-sized amount of Pearl Powder to 4 to 5 drops of oil
2. mix it in your and using your finger
3. gently rub your hand together to distribute the mixture
4. pat your face to evenly treat face and neck
You can also use Pearl Powder as a setting powder to remove shines and treat your skin at the same time.
Dry Skin
Dry skin is as difficult as oily skin to manage, it's just the opposite problem. In this case, we suggest you use a nourishing cream or 4 to for drops of Argan Oil as a base of the mixture. The instruction are pretty the same:
1. add a pearl-sized amount of Pearl Powder to your cream 4 to 5 drops of oil
2. mix it in your and using your finger
3. gently rub your hand together to distribute the mixture
4. pat your face to evenly treat face and neck
If you feel that this solution isn't right for you, you can always include Pearl Powder in you skincare routine by literally eating it daily, as a supplement.
