HAVE SUMMERTIME READY FEET IN 1 HOUR

HEAL YOUR SOLE

SANDAL SEASON IS UPON US

Feet are the root of the human body, connecting you to the Earth and taking you from place to place.  They deserve the same amount of care we give to other parts of our body, possibly even more. It’s not until summer rolls by that we suddenly begin creaming and taking care of our feet more as sandal season approaches, but this level of care should be applied throughout the year, especially though the cold winter months. They do more than help us style through the seasons, providing accurate insight into our overall health and even tell you if you are on your way to developing diseases like diabetes, arthritis and more.

Neglecting your feet can lead you to a number of fungal infections, which we will spare you the image of, we’re sure many of you are not avid feet enthusiasts. However, it is through taking care of your feet that you are not able to only look presentable during the summer with beautiful toes out to soak up the sun, but also spot the on set signs of diabetes. If you find you have cold feet (literally), it may be worth seeing your doctor as diabetes affects the nerve endings in your feet, creating irregular circulation and causing them to be cold no matter the weather. If you may have experienced this, do not put off seeing the doctor or may lose all your little soldiers in the process!

Feet are also telling of your internal health by the colour of your toe nails. Yellowing nails can be signs of stomach upset, liver disease and many other stomach related issues. Be sure to trim your nails at least once a week moisturise daily and keep a close eye on the appearance of your nails, whether they may be drying out or changing in colour.

Now, we know how great heels or a pair of cute wedge sandals can make you feel all the more alluring and stylish, however, if you spend all your time in uncomfortable shoes, you may be doing yourself more harm than good. High heels force our bodies into a position that makes the body look more flattering and leaner, but also puts stress on certain areas of the foot, rather than balancing out the weight evenly. Not only is it very easy to fall and cause injury, but it also puts a strain on your lower back to keep the body upright and balanced while wearing mini skyscrapers. Don your Louis Vuitton’s, but give your feet a chance to relax and balance your body in a way brings ease to your back, your legs and of course, your feet. Invest in a good pair of trainers and wear them on your days off, or on the way to work in the mornings and change into your heels at your desk. Try wearing trainers this week and we promise you, you will feel lighter and more at ease rushing through your errands, because we know - cushion heeled trainers with breathable material are the friends your feet never knew they needed.

We’ve prepped you for long term feet care, but if you’re like us, you will not have been constant foot upcast throughout the winter as it’s much too easy to put it aside and say “I’ll do it later.” We know what it’s like, and of course, we’re here to the rescue. We’ve found the most wonderful foot peel to help get your feet ready for summer in one week, and it includes one ingredient you may have never guessed would help rejuvenate the skin on your feet; Aspirin. Now all those discounted painkillers can be used for more than your regular headaches and cramps.

MN'S MIRACLE FOOT PEEL

Ingredients:

  • Small careful of non-coated aspirin tablets, crushed into a fine grain
  • 2 Tbsp of warm water
  • 2 Tbsp of lemon juice
  • Plastic wrap
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Thick pair of socks

  1. In a small mixing bowl, add the finely crushed aspirin tablets with the lemon juice. If possible, opt for freshly squeezed lemon juice as this will still be ripe with all the freshness and minus any harmful preservatives and chemicals.
  2. Now, begin slowly pouring the water and mixing throughout. If you find the paste is becoming too thick, add a little lemon juice.
  3. Begin applying the peel to both feet generously. Begin using the wrap around each foot, covering it entirely and sealing in the peel, and then wear your thick socks.
  4. Leave the treatment on for at least an hour, if not more (however, 3 hours should be more than enough).
  5. Remove socks and plastic wrap, and rinse the peel off with warm water. Dry your feet with a clean towel and massage in the jojoba oil into the skin. This will allow them to continue feeling moisturised.

As this is a peel, you will continue to see the effects of it over the next few days. You may find your feet peeling, but this means it is working. Your feet will be summer ready by the end of the week!

Note: Please do test the mixture on a small patch of skin a day prior to applying all over feet. If a stinging/tingling sensation is felt, your skin may be too sensitive for the mixture and will do you more harm than goos.
