Imagine a fruit so nutritious that goats will climb trees just to eat them. Inside that little fruit, is the little nut that gives us argan oil.
For generations, natives of the argan woodlands in Morocco have pressed the nut to extract this precious oil, to use argan oil benefits as a dietary supplement; for wound treatment and rash relief; and to nourish skin and hair.
One of the main reasons that argan oil is so therapeutic is because it’s rich in Vitamin A and Vitamin E. However, argan oil is also packed with antioxidants, omega-6 fatty acids and linoleic acid. Research shows that when applied to the skin, argan oil benefits include easing inflammation while moisturizing the skin.
When applied externally, tocopherols from the Vitamin E helps to boost cell production while promoting healthy skin and hair.
PRICKLY PEAR SEED OIL
Used for healing and culinary purposes for centuries, the prickly pear’s versatility is truly extraordinary: The Aztecs used it to treat burns, the Chinese used it to dress abscesses, and Native Americans ate the fruit and made syrup out of it to treat whooping cough and asthma. In traditional Mexican medicine, it was also used to treat diabetes and high cholesterol. Mexicans have even used it for painting churches and homes, as well as marking property lines. More recently, prickly pear seed oil has become popular for use in skin care.
Prickly pear seed oil comes from the prickly pear cactus, which is sometimes called the Barbary fig. The cactus grows fruit pods that contain small seeds, and these seeds are filled with a nutrient-rich oil that’s extracted and used in skincare.
As Cucumber and Argan Seed Oil, it’s got a ton of tocopherol, aka vitamin E. Prickly Pear actually contains 150% more vitamin E than Argan!
It also boasts lots of Vitamin K, which is known for its ability to brighten skin and reduce the appearance of under eye circles, hyperpigmentation and dark spots. High levels of amino acids make Prickly Pear Seed Oil an ideal product for stimulating the production of collagen, promoting cell turnover, and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Betalains are another all-star aspect of prickly pear seed oil. They’re a kind of antioxidant that’s found in many superfoods (you’ve probably heard of acai and goji), and prickly pear has an especially high concentration, making it incredibly effective for anti-ageing formulas.
On top of all these fabulous ingredients, prickly pear is also renowned for hydrating and nourishing the skin and tightening pores — all without leaving a greasy or oily residue. Prickly pear seed oil is non-comedogenic, so you can safely use it every night — ideally after cleansing your skin — without fear of clogging pores. It helps balance your skin’s oils so you are less prone to breakouts.
HOW TO USE IT
You'll be surprised by how easy is to nourish and massage your eye area thanks to this product.
Start applying the product by gently pressing the roller ball all around the eye area. With your finger spread the mixture and gently tap using your middle finger. Eye skin is thin and delicate and we don't want to damage it. Tapping is the best way to let all nutrients penetrate and at the same time stimulate the lymphatic system to reduce puffiness.
Tip: keep your Soothe & Smooth Eyes inside the fridge to keep it cool. “Cooling skin with any kind of a pure temperature change can help bring down puffiness,” says Rachel Nazarian, MD, a New York City dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group. “This happens for the same reason your fingertips go numb when you go outside and it’s cold.” That’s because blood vessels constrict when the temps are cooler, which is why for years pros have suggested placing spoons in the fridge as an under eye remedy.
We suggest using Soothe & Smooth Eyes morning and night to cure and prevent undereye puffiness.
So, what can I expect using Soothe & Smooth Eyes?
_ A diminished appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
_ Reduced redness and irritation
_ Alleviation from sunburn
_ Increased firmness and elasticity
