BACK TO REALITY
The fun is officially over. Or is it?
The holiday’s are officially over. All the great Christmas parties, family fun and wine to soothe all of last years sorrows has finally passed, and not many are happy to be back at work. 2017 is well underway, and the January blues are hitting us all, with some of our new years resolutions also already forgotten. But, we’re here to propose a different mind-set for this brand new year; this year is the year for change, and we mean on a big scale. Change is a difficult path to take, and we know it all too well, but with the help of friends –like us ;) – it’s much easier to ease into. Here’s how to make this year your best year yet.
5 WAYS TO BE DIFFERENT THIS YEAR
- SAY YES TO NEW EXPERIENCES
New experiences sound scary, but more often than not, they tend to be unforgettable for all the right reasons. Forcing yourself out of your comfort zone and trying out new things not only gives you a great new experience to remember, but also makes you more interesting. We challenge you to try it. Remove the word “no” from your vocabulary when a new opportunity comes yours way, and just say yes.
- DO NOT LEAVE IT TO FATE – SEIZE THE YEAR
The difference between those who have what they want, and those who are still unhappy with their current circumstances is that they do not challenge their positon and take on new opportunities. Many of us choose comfort against hard work as it is much easier to continue doing what you do, and leaving it to “fate”. Fate and destiny may apply for love and all things alike, but when it comes to your career, financial situation and knowledge, the possibility of being better and doing better is actually there. We just choose to continue in our current positions, wishing for change, but not pushing for it. Why not learn something new soon? Who knows, it could very well lead you on your way to your next job opportunity.
- EXPRESS GRATITUDE AT ALL TIMES
If this year is going to be even slightly better than last year, you must appreciate it for what it is, and gradually you will begin to see the New Year as one entirely different from any other. We do not naturally express gratitude, and if we did, not only would a single day be better, but also the company around us will mirror our energy and this will take into effect at work, in relationships and with friends. In all areas of your life, you will begin to feel more positive, solely for being grateful for all things big and small. Good energy translates and intensifies. Do you want to be happier? You can be – but it all starts with you.
- DO MORE OF WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD
How many times have you seen yourself bend over backwards last year for people who did not deserve your time or energy? How much time did you spend doing workouts you absolutely hated and had no interest in? Your life is yours alone, and it is yours to enjoy! We urge you to be smart with your decisions this year and find a way of making everything more fun. Being older and wiser does not mean the fun stops here. Why not join a workout class that you may actually enjoy? Or, try out a cooking class, learn a new skill or language, go for long walks with a friend or dance to your hearts content whenever you get the chance. Whatever it is you want to do, just have fun!
- BE RESILIENT
Now, we know this list may be all sunshine and rainbows, but we are not that naïve. We know life can become too much at times and problems mount on top of the other before you’ve even had a chance to grasp the situation. However, it is with great love and care that we advise you to expect it. It’s the beauty and tragedy of life. But when you are to face this years upcoming struggle – and it will come …- then face them with a brave face. All will be will, and we will always be here to comfort you for rest of the way.
We hope you’ve enjoyed this weeks post. We leave you with great love and care.
